I loved this D5 Render course so much! I wasn’t expecting it to be so packed with information. It has everything you need to know about D5 Render. At first, I was pretty concerned about whether I would be able to learn the software properly. However, after just watching a few videos, I felt pretty confident. Now that I’ve finished the course, I can say I can create really good renders, especially interior renders. I didn’t know D5 would be this easy! Oliver explains everything in detail, and if you don’t understand something, you can simply ask him in the comments below. The post-production section adds the final touch to the render! I LOVED IT!!! Straight from Nigeria. I learnt a lot and it was well paced. I know in total it says it's 2 hours. it took me 5 days to complete due to work and a spice of laziness but nonetheless, eventually I was victorious. Off to practice what I have learnt but if you are looking for a sign on whether to take this course or not, I HOPE THIS ALL CAPS WRITING IS A SIGN BOLD ENOUGH FOR YOU!!!
Wasn’t expecting to get this much value, tbh. Thought I knew a lot already, but this course goes deep into things and dissects D5 in all areas. I liked that the Upstairs team divided the modules very clearly so I focused on the parts that I needed the most first. Super recommended for anyone looking to enhance their visualization skills!

This course delivers what it promises. We all need workflows and Oliver has given us a flexible workflow that can be adapted to any project. Because the render can come from any source, the post-processing is adaptable to any BIM authoring and rendering software.

You are never quite sure what to expect with these courses, as the quality varies wildly. I could not be happier with this one. Oliver does such a great job clearly explaining the tools and techniques so they are easy to understand. If for some reason, you don't understand, he is quick to respond to all comments. He has set the bar high for online courses and is clearly extremely talented and knowledgeable. I was able to drastically improve my rendering skills and had zero experience with D5. The course is excellent, even for beginners like myself who have never used this engine before. Oliver thoroughly explains the tools and his process for creating renders. It also includes an explanation of how to use AI as an enhancer, a highly effective tool for adding more realism to images. Additionally, the course covers post-production techniques for both images and videos, which I found extremely useful.
The course was easy to follow. It might be intimidating at first because of the number of steps to achieve an improved effect on an object but it is worth it once you see the end product.

It's an interesting and useful course for learning Photoshop and how to use it for architectural visualization.
The course is great! Oliver is very clear and easy to follow. The course teaches you the software interface and also shows you different scenarios/projects to put what you've learned into practice.
Thank you for the course. In my opinion, it was well structured, almost all the points you tackled were explained thoroughly, and your pace was appropriate for absolute beginners (the video playback speed can be increased if people want a faster pace which is a nice feature). The course tackled the most famous types of diagrams and gave ample inspiration sources which is also a very good point.
I learned good tricks and tips that I didn't know about and probably would have never learned through this course. Taking this course has helped me improve my portfolio and portfolio-making skills as well. I went into this course already knowing InDesign yet I still learned new things. Very good course, I would recommend it!
All great exercises from the first one. As the classes go by, general difficulty and detail levels increase, showing various ways of getting to the same result.
It was really helpful! Major step up for future projects. Since I'm not so good at Photoshop, it was a bit difficult when you use shortcut keys without explaining what it does and how they work. But it will take time for me. Thanks!

It was a nicely structured course to teach you a lot of things about post-production in Photoshop. Maybe some more experienced artists will find it easy, but it was a great course for users new to the Photoshop side of things, well explained all the way.

Hi Oliver, thank you for the course it was incredibly insightful and gave me a fresh perspective on portfolio design! I do have one suggestion that could make it even more helpful: adding a session on how to prepare materials before starting the portfolio. While others might already have their work ready, as a student who’s new to this, it would be really valuable to learn how to refine technical drawings, renders, or visuals to align with the portfolio’s theme similar to how you explained adjusting an image’s color to fit a concept. It would also be great to get tips on selecting what to include, especially since you mentioned not putting every drawing, render, or representation into the portfolio. Guidance on deciding if new visuals are needed or adapting technical drawings and presentation boards into a cohesive portfolio would also be incredibly helpful. I think a session like this could provide practical insights, especially for those starting from scratch. Thanks again for such an inspiring and valuable course!

I like how the majority of the videos in each module are broken down into consumable information and prepare you for creating your portfolio. I also appreciate the examples of others' work in portfolios and on different styles to explore. I would like to emphasize starting your portfolio after watching a couple of videos in the module, since that is what I did every time I completed one of them. As a beginner on starting my architecture portfolio, I understood more than when I first began the course and especially from my four years in university, so it's well worth it!

I'm just finishing this course up now and honestly it's completely worth the money. It's so comprehensive and the attention to detail is fantastic. I tried another D5 course that was $40 or something and it was so bad that I didn't even finish it. This course is the real deal.
The course is very detailed and thorough. Its beginner friendly but can also be useful to intermediate/advanced photoshop users. The resources, advice and tips and tricks provided by the instructor will leave those enrolled in the course feeling more confident and inspired to unleash their own creativity. This course was better than I expected, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in ArchViz (with Photoshop, SketchUp, Vray)!

I bought the course knowing the bare minimum about Photoshop and Illustrator. Seeing a good workflow made the learning process much easier, not only from the software but from the concepts. I had already been following YouTube, and this course was pretty useful for deepening my knowledge. I like how it's taught with great synthesis power and incredible visual organization.

A complete professional course to learn and generate an Architectural Portfolio.
The course is good for anyone's work related to the architecture industry. Diagrams may seem additional and not as important compared to 3D archviz, but as a good designer, the diagram is essential to show your ideas and how the design was developed. This course helped me add the quality of presentation report and slides to my client. I really enjoy it and hope Upstairs will come out with more courses... maybe the next one will be an animated diagram? Cross fingers.
If you were like me, a person who knew nothing about the importance/power of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, this course will teach you so much. The level of depth and experience of Oliver and the team at Upstairs, is absolutely amazing. Not only do they teach about how to manage computer software, but they also instruct about the profession of architecture, the reason we are even here, to begin with. The amount of work, patience, and drive is self-evident in their work, and I as a student, appreciate it so much. I've also looked around for similar content on the web, and nothing compares to the work at Upstairs.
This was such an awesome course, and I enjoyed doing every part of it.
