I like how the majority of the videos in each module are broken down into consumable information and prepare you for creating your portfolio. I also appreciate the examples of others' work in portfolios and on different styles to explore. I would like to emphasize starting your portfolio after watching a couple of videos in the module, since that is what I did every time I completed one of them. As a beginner on starting my architecture portfolio, I understood more than when I first began the course and especially from my four years in university, so it's well worth it!

There's always something new around the corner. You wouldn't know if you don't try and explore how different people work or navigate. I think Oliver has made some crazy effort to condense as much as he could in these courses without overburdening the students going through it.

Good for beginners, with a lot of cool tips, but for someone who already has some knowledge of Photoshop, it may not be enough.
Even though I have worked with Indesign for quite some time before, I learned some new practical tips and tricks from this course. Knowing how to work with character styles was especially helpful for me. I also really enjoyed module 6 and the conceptual insights an portfolio reviews that Oliver provided there. The way that Oliver is explaining everything is super easy to understand and fun to watch. Thank you very much for this course, Oliver. I have followed many InDesign courses but this one is the most complete on the market. The information provided and the method of communication is clear and direct. The examples shown are of great help in understanding how to approach the design of an architectural portfolio. The presence of subtitles in different languages is very useful to fully understand each concept. This course should be compulsory in every architecture school to have a clear idea of how to effectively show each project.
It helped me with what I was looking for. The course is very fast, yet focused on the important thing you need to know about Photoshop for Architects, even if you are a beginner. It was good to see the workflow, organization, and specific tips for architecture. I would love to see a course like this for interiors as well, because I think some people would make good use of it.

I loved the course, and the Upstairs channel as a whole. It gives me the inspiration to work more with architecture illustration, which I've been falling in love with ever since studying it more. The workflow is not hard, but it might be easier to understand if you already have a basic knowledge of architectural plans as a whole.
Everything about how to create architectural renders in Photoshop from scratch to a level where you can able to do anything. Most importantly one can learn how to categorise the layers which does not disturb the workflow. Totally loved it.

The Urban Drawing Bundle is incredible for any type of Isometric drawing, it's all you need in terms of assets to populate a scene without loosing too much time. I prefer to use it directly from Illustrator so I have more control over the asset's final look. Highly recommend it!
Not a detailed course like the isometric course he has, but it teaches you how to learn from other portfolios and make wise design decisions. This course is more about portfolio making than learning to use InDesign, so for the most part, InDesign felt irrelevant.
This was such an awesome course, and I enjoyed doing every part of it. As someone who's never used Photoshop or Illustrator, let alone any sort of Adobe software before, this course provided me with a solid foundation, and I feel a lot more confident in my ability to use these tools in the future as I progress into my bachelor's later this year. I bought the course knowing the bare minimum about Photoshop and Illustrator. Seeing a good workflow made the learning process much easier, not only from the software but from the concepts. I had already been following YouTube, and this course was pretty useful for deepening my knowledge. I like how it's taught with great synthesis power and incredible visual organization.
I loved this D5 Render course so much! I wasn’t expecting it to be so packed with information. It has everything you need to know about D5 Render. At first, I was pretty concerned about whether I would be able to learn the software properly. However, after just watching a few videos, I felt pretty confident. Now that I’ve finished the course, I can say I can create really good renders, especially interior renders. I didn’t know D5 would be this easy! Oliver explains everything in detail, and if you don’t understand something, you can simply ask him in the comments below. The post-production section adds the final touch to the render! The modules were well organized and easy to follow. The modules' videos weren't long and boring at all. I was excited to learn every stage. The portfolio examples shown were the cherry on top, providing us with a good balance between technical aspects of InDesign and what to expect when designing an architectural portfolio. I enjoyed it so much, such great content. It's worth the investment!

The course is a great fundamental guide for architectural illustrations. The step by step guide and emphasis on workflow has been very helpful for efficiency, and has helped me take my drawings to another level.
So, I’ve been using Blender for about 6 years now, and when I heard D5 Render works with it, I thought, “Why not give it a go?” The render engine, the colors, the whole ease-of-use thing they advertise... it all looked pretty sweet. But I knew I’d need to get up to speed, so I went looking for a solid course. That’s when I stumbled across "Learn Upstairs." Not gonna lie, it wasn’t cheap, but honestly? Worth every cent. Oliver explains everything so clearly that it just clicks. By the end of it, I felt like I could dive into D5 Render without a hitch. Massive thanks to Oliver. Brilliant course, mate! This course was exactly what I was looking for. It’s not just about learning the software, it’s way more than that. The course is good for anyone's work related to the architecture industry. Diagrams may seem additional and not as important compared to 3D archviz, but as a good designer, the diagram is essential to show your ideas and how the design was developed. This course helped me add the quality of presentation report and slides to my client. I really enjoy it and hope Upstairs will come out with more courses... maybe the next one will be an animated diagram? Cross fingers.
I would really like to thank the tutor and his entire team for creating this course. I have always struggled with creating interesting looking architectural plans in the past, but never could understand where to begin from. With this course, I did indeed learn a lot of new techniques regarding smart moves through different software, a non-destructive workflow and most importantly 'Architectural Presentation Style'. Lessons that were made for architects! Just a few & simple edits to a CAD plan can really improve your drawing. I think that subtlety is the key here. Thank you again. Cheers!
