Hi Oliver, thank you for the course it was incredibly insightful and gave me a fresh perspective on portfolio design! I do have one suggestion that could make it even more helpful: adding a session on how to prepare materials before starting the portfolio. While others might already have their work ready, as a student who’s new to this, it would be really valuable to learn how to refine technical drawings, renders, or visuals to align with the portfolio’s theme similar to how you explained adjusting an image’s color to fit a concept. It would also be great to get tips on selecting what to include, especially since you mentioned not putting every drawing, render, or representation into the portfolio. Guidance on deciding if new visuals are needed or adapting technical drawings and presentation boards into a cohesive portfolio would also be incredibly helpful. I think a session like this could provide practical insights, especially for those starting from scratch. Thanks again for such an inspiring and valuable course!

What I appreciated about the course instructor was that he was generous enough to provide an additional module that delved into portfolios, besides the course being about the InDesign software. Moreover, it was very practical in terms of providing actual examples of selected portfolios online.
Very in-depth course that will improve all of your plans. Teaches the basics like patterns, shadows, fills & Ai + Ps skills, all the way through to tiny details. All of which help your plans emphisise the architecture in a clear, readable way.
This course was exactly what I was looking for. It’s not just about learning the software, it’s way more than that. Lessons that really makes you think differently and express yourself better as an architect. Most courses just show you how to use the tools, but this one actually teaches you how to use them in a way that makes sense. You don’t really find that anywhere else. I finally feel like I can show my ideas the way I always wanted to.
You are never quite sure what to expect with these courses, as the quality varies wildly. I could not be happier with this one. Oliver does such a great job clearly explaining the tools and techniques so they are easy to understand. If for some reason, you don't understand, he is quick to respond to all comments. He has set the bar high for online courses and is clearly extremely talented and knowledgeable. I was able to drastically improve my rendering skills and had zero experience with D5. The course is very detailed and thorough. Its beginner friendly but can also be useful to intermediate/advanced photoshop users. The resources, advice and tips and tricks provided by the instructor will leave those enrolled in the course feeling more confident and inspired to unleash their own creativity. This course was better than I expected, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in ArchViz (with Photoshop, SketchUp, Vray)!

Everything about how to create architectural renders in Photoshop from scratch to a level where you can able to do anything. Most importantly one can learn how to categorise the layers which does not disturb the workflow. Totally loved it.

This material is exact and concise with content that is meaningful. The insights and explanations are outstanding. The level of detail is just right without distractions or unnecessary tangents. In addition, there are no plugs for buying the assets but those too are excellent and well worth the modest cost. I would definitely encourage a link to the store in the various lessons as those assets are amazing and add to the sophistication of the final projects. I bought the course knowing the bare minimum about Photoshop and Illustrator. Seeing a good workflow made the learning process much easier, not only from the software but from the concepts. I had already been following YouTube, and this course was pretty useful for deepening my knowledge. I like how it's taught with great synthesis power and incredible visual organization.
Not a detailed course like the isometric course he has, but it teaches you how to learn from other portfolios and make wise design decisions. This course is more about portfolio making than learning to use InDesign, so for the most part, InDesign felt irrelevant.
I really liked this course, he teaches you many tricks to create a good portfolio, but what I liked the most was the fact that he explains everything with examples of real portfolios. Another plus point was that English is not my first language, and yet I had no problem understanding everything and helping myself with subtitles. I also had a small problem that I couldn't open a file and he solved everything very quickly. Totally recommended!

Very well-rounded course that was very easy to understand and follow along with. My only suggestion would be to potentially create tutorials with other free softwares, like TwinMotion or other software that students get free access to and can properly utilize, as shown in your tutorials. Still appreciate the content and look forward to learning in future courses!
I loved the course, and the Upstairs channel as a whole. It gives me the inspiration to work more with architecture illustration, which I've been falling in love with ever since studying it more. The workflow is not hard, but it might be easier to understand if you already have a basic knowledge of architectural plans as a whole.

The post-production course taught me so many skills and tricks in Photoshop and has allowed me to develop an efficient workflow when it comes to post-production. The course also comes with additional resources that you can use for your own projects. If you're an architecture student, I can't recommend this course enough!
