A really good course with great explanations and amazing quality results.
I really liked this course, he teaches you many tricks to create a good portfolio, but what I liked the most was the fact that he explains everything with examples of real portfolios. Another plus point was that English is not my first language, and yet I had no problem understanding everything and helping myself with subtitles. I also had a small problem that I couldn't open a file and he solved everything very quickly. Totally recommended!
The course is excellent, even for beginners like myself who have never used this engine before. Oliver thoroughly explains the tools and his process for creating renders. It also includes an explanation of how to use AI as an enhancer, a highly effective tool for adding more realism to images. Additionally, the course covers post-production techniques for both images and videos, which I found extremely useful.
It was really helpful! Major step up for future projects. Since I'm not so good at Photoshop, it was a bit difficult when you use shortcut keys without explaining what it does and how they work. But it will take time for me. Thanks!

This is a very practical pack for making diagrams and collages in an easy and fast way. It's been great so far, it has saved me plenty of time and effort. I don't have to be looking for high resolution vegetation anymore.
The course is extensive and easy to follow, and it’s great that you can participate at your own pace and on your own schedule. I've already been able to apply some tips in practice, which has helped take my renders to a higher level. Fully applying all the knowledge takes time, so it's essential to work on a variety of projects to continuously improve your workflow.

The course is very detailed and thorough. Its beginner friendly but can also be useful to intermediate/advanced photoshop users. As a student, I have to say that the course is a bit too expensive. I didn't mean the content is not worthy, cause it sure does. However, I think if the price could be lower or there were some discounts from time to time, it would be great. Appreciate the work.
I bought the course knowing the bare minimum about Photoshop and Illustrator. Seeing a good workflow made the learning process much easier, not only from the software but from the concepts. I had already been following YouTube, and this course was pretty useful for deepening my knowledge. I like how it's taught with great synthesis power and incredible visual organization.

Very informative course!
I specifically enjoyed how for this tutorial Oliver stuck to the ins and outs of InDesign and how to use it properly. I think this strategy works well mainly because each person has a different story to tell through their portfolio. Therefore, the tutorial only helps you know how to navigate InDesign and it doesn't really hinder your perception of how to do your portfolio. Also, I think the examples help inspire the audience, especially as we can see Oliver annotate and discuss the mistakes and great points of each portfolio. The extra material is great and I feel that the extra lessons with him are super useful.
If you were like me, a person who knew nothing about the importance/power of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, this course will teach you so much. The level of depth and experience of Oliver and the team at Upstairs, is absolutely amazing. Not only do they teach about how to manage computer software, but they also instruct about the profession of architecture, the reason we are even here, to begin with. The amount of work, patience, and drive is self-evident in their work, and I as a student, appreciate it so much. I've also looked around for similar content on the web, and nothing compares to the work at Upstairs.

Everything about how to create architectural renders in Photoshop from scratch to a level where you can able to do anything. Most importantly one can learn how to categorise the layers which does not disturb the workflow. Totally loved it.
Thank you for the course. In my opinion, it was well structured, almost all the points you tackled were explained thoroughly, and your pace was appropriate for absolute beginners (the video playback speed can be increased if people want a faster pace which is a nice feature). The course tackled the most famous types of diagrams and gave ample inspiration sources which is also a very good point.
Good tips and in general gives a critical view of portfolios. It is overpriced, though, especially as it is aimed at students.

I like how the majority of the videos in each module are broken down into consumable information and prepare you for creating your portfolio. I also appreciate the examples of others' work in portfolios and on different styles to explore. I would like to emphasize starting your portfolio after watching a couple of videos in the module, since that is what I did every time I completed one of them. As a beginner on starting my architecture portfolio, I understood more than when I first began the course and especially from my four years in university, so it's well worth it!

Unlike the tutorials on axonometric drawings and renderings, this course mainly focuses on introducing InDesign technology, which accounts for the majority of the content.
The course is really easy to follow. It will make you able to communicate ideas very easily. It's a must-do. A great weapon to have in your arsenal. I loved it.
I have been watching Oliver's tutorials since OU Graphics and it has always helped me, so for this reason I decided to try out the isometric masterclass and photoshop courses and without any doubt, it lived up to my expectations. A brilliant course worth its price. Teaching was effective and you learn a lot especially if you are a beginner. The course pace isn't too fast, meaning beginners won't fall behind. By the end, you will be able to use the techniques in this case study in your own designs.
Oliver did an amazing job walking us through his process with creating diagrams. He was clear and reinforced important details throughout the course, making sure to help build good habits. Good for beginners, with a lot of cool tips, but for someone who already has some knowledge of Photoshop, it may not be enough.

This course was exactly what I was looking for to begin learning Photoshop! I am currently an architecture student and was not too good at Photoshop. Still, I feel a lot more confident in my ability to create renderings using Photoshop for class projects and my work-study!

The course is good for anyone's work related to the architecture industry. Diagrams may seem additional and not as important compared to 3D archviz, but as a good designer, the diagram is essential to show your ideas and how the design was developed. This course helped me add the quality of presentation report and slides to my client. I really enjoy it and hope Upstairs will come out with more courses... maybe the next one will be an animated diagram? Cross fingers.

I have always struggled with creating interesting looking architectural plans in the past, but never could understand where to begin from. With this course, I did indeed learn a lot of new techniques regarding smart moves through different software, a non-destructive workflow and most importantly 'Architectural Presentation Style'. This course delivers what it promises. We all need workflows and Oliver has given us a flexible workflow that can be adapted to any project. Because the render can come from any source, the post-processing is adaptable to any BIM authoring and rendering software.

I do have one suggestion that could make it even more helpful: adding a session on how to prepare materials before starting the portfolio. While others might already have their work ready, as a student who’s new to this, it would be really valuable to learn how to refine technical drawings, renders, or visuals to align with the portfolio’s theme similar to how you explained adjusting an image’s color to fit a concept. It would also be great to get tips on selecting what to include, especially since you mentioned not putting every drawing, render, or representation into the portfolio. Guidance on deciding if new visuals are needed or adapting technical drawings and presentation boards into a cohesive portfolio would also be incredibly helpful. I think a session like this could provide practical insights, especially for those starting from scratch. Thanks again for such an inspiring and valuable course!

In addition, there are no plugs for buying the assets but those too are excellent and well worth the modest cost. I loved the course, and the Upstairs channel as a whole. It gives me the inspiration to work more with architecture illustration, which I've been falling in love with ever since studying it more. The workflow is not hard, but it might be easier to understand if you already have a basic knowledge of architectural plans as a whole.
